Gary Levone Anderson was born on June 6th, 1939 in Jacksonville, Florida but ended up living in Norfolk, Virginia, where he signed for Frank Guida’s “Legrand” records, recording as Gary “U.S.” Bonds. His first hit was “New Orleans”, which was followed by his only number one hit, “Quarter To Three” in June 1961. In the early 1980s, Bonds had a career resurgence with two albums and continues to release albums sporadically, and today is a mainstay of the nostalgia concert circuit. This disc from 1975 has a small bit of biro on the label, otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition – CLASS SOUL!!!!!!
