Dione La Rue was born on September 9th, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA. In 1962, she was signed by Cameo Parkway and was christened “Dee Dee Sharp” by producers Kal Mann and Bernie Lowe as ther brother called her “Dee” and she sang in D sharp, She produced a string of hits, with a couple selling over one million copies. In 1967, she married record producer and Philadelphia International co-founder Kenny Gamble and recorded under the name Dee Dee Sharp – Gamble until their divorce in 1980. She signed for “Atco” records, helped found Gamble Records with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, then recording for “TSOP” records and “Philadelphia International” records. This disc has some superficial wear, whilst retaining gloss with a bit of black marker on the flip, worth checking the flip
